your perennial garden expert
Evelyn Wolf, garden consultant

Gardening has been my pass-time, business andGarden Possibilities owner pic inspiration for what seems like forever!  A passion for a garden's possibilities and the personal enrichment even the smallest patch of ground can bring to our lives, goes into every garden I design or tend.   Together with a small crew of dedicated and experienced helpers, no size or type of garden is beyond our expertise.

Background.  I've been a hands-on gardener for over 30 years, where a passion for collecting and experimenting with new plants and their design possibilities has been something close to an obsession!    ... 30 years of gardening as my main leisure pastime  ... 20 years teaching classes, presenting seminars, and writing gardening articles  ... 10 years operating a garden specialty bookstore where all my curiosities could be explored ... and 13 years tending to clients' gardens throughout York Region, has been my training ground.
Over the years, a fascination with not only the art of garden design, but the science of how plants and gardens tick, led me to explore, observe, experiment, and ultimately develop an immense respect for the amazingly intricate natural cycles of a garden's life.  Both above ground in the plants and below ground in the soil that feeds and supports them, there's a fine-tuned symbiosis that continues to fascinate me.  Combined with the flood of exciting new plants on the market each year and the endless creative possibilities offered by even the tiniest patch of ground, I'm not sure I could ever tire of what I do!

Today.   For the past 13 years I've applied this accumulated experience to designing unique perennial gardens for clients in northern York Region, from Lake Simcoe to Richmond Hill.  My crew has been thoroughly trained in the techniques I like to apply small section of my front garden showing a rich mix of texture, colour and form.when maintaining gardens, and I continue to learn from the many challenging gardening conditions encountered in my work.

My own display gardens in Queensville house many of the unique plants I've accumulated over the years and is offered as a showcase of the possibilities to clients.  (...actually, I think I use that as an excuse to continue adding to my collection even though space has run out!  Gardeners are a bit of a nutty lot really - limitations or common-sense seldom come into decisions when it comes to their own garden. :) )

Whatever project is at hand, my fascination with how plants grow and adapt, ... respect for their ability to survive our follies, ... admiration for the endless creative possibilities they offer to any size or style of garden, ... and a desire to combine all this to create a garden that matches your dreams, is evident.
